Punjabi style Makki de Roti Recipe | Indian Corn Bread Gluten-Free
Ingredients :
Radish (optional) 1 small (peeled & grated)
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
Ajowan – ¼ tsp
Maize flour(makki atta) 2 cups
Wheat flour – ½ cup
Radish leaves ¼ cup (finely chopped)
Green chilli 1 no (finely chopped)
Water as required
Ghee as required
Method
Add a pinch of salt to the radish and leave aside for 5 minutes. Squeeze out the excess water from the
grated radish.
In a bowl, add flour, a pinch of salt, grated radish,
radish leaves, and green chili. Add little water to make a dough. Divide the
same into 4 equal-sized balls
Place the dough on a floured surface and roll out into
discs (½ cm approx), alternatively place a plastic film/sheet on the kitchen
table and lightly oil it. Place the dough and cover it with another oiled
plastic film and flatten it out using your hands.
Remove the film and carefully place it on a hot griddle or
a pan and cook the roti on both sides using ghee. Serve hot.
